Jet Ski Kawasaki Short Overview

By Low Jeremy

The story of Jet Ski began when Clayton Jacobson II, the known inventor of the original personal water craft, sold the rights to his patent to Kawasaki.

The company began developing this personal water craft and in 1973, came the launch of their WSAA and WSAB models. These 2 are known to be the worlds first Jet Skis. They were produced on a limited basis, powered by 2-stroke twin-cylinder engines. The WSAA was distinguished by a flat haul while the WSAB had a V-type hull.

The year 1976 brought Kawasaki to mass-produce their Jet Ski. This year gave birth to the JS400 (JS400-A) model. When the racers and water sport enthusiasts demanded for power, Kawasaki responded and gave them the JS440 (JS440-A). This model was one of the longest-selling Jet Skis made.

In the 80s, Jet Ski was more powerful with additional features. This era brought the JS550. It was the first Jet Ski model to come out with revised high-capacity mixed-flow pump that gave it more power for people who wanted to have more than the usual thrill. The JS550 had 531 cm3 2-stroke Twin. Feature included the automatic rpm control.

The 80s also gave birth to the JS300 (1986) that was hailed to be the beginners Jet Ski, 650SX (1987) powered by a 635 cm3 2-stroke Twin, 300SX (1987) with 294 cm3 reed-valve Single with CD ignition, and the very first Kawasaki Jet Ski sit-down water craft, the two-seater Tandem Sport (1989) with 635 cm3 engine.

The 90s came with a riveting Jet Ski models, features and designs. At the beginning of the decade, the 550SX, considered to be a high-performing Jet Ski, made its sale. A year later, 550SX was given a facelift with aluminum cylinders, underwater exhaust outlet, and piston reed valves. The 1991 also gave rebirth to the 650SX but was more powerful than before.

Other 90s models are 2-seater 750SS, JL650-A, JH750-B sit-down, JH750-D sit-down, JT750-A sit-down, 750 ZXi, 750 Zsi, 3-seater JT750, 1100 Zxi, 900 STX, 1100 STX and a lot more. The 90s made Jet Ski a better choice for its wide range of choices. The power, material used, and features are upgraded with the coming of modern marine and water craft technology.

Some 90s models are carried with the turn of the century. And with the performance the current Kawasaki Jet Skis have, these models capture still capture the interest of both the thrill seeker and racers.

Tips On sea doo jet boat

, which use underwater wings or struts to lift the vessel clear of the water, standard jetboats use a conventional planing hull to ride across the water surface, with only the rear portion of the hull displacing any water. With the majority of the hull clear of the water, there is reduced drag, greatly enhancing speed and maneuverability, so jetboats are normally operated at planing speed. At slower speeds with less water pumping through the jet unit, the jetboat will lose some steering control and maneuverability and will quickly slow down as the hull comes off its planing state and hull resistance is increased. However, loss of steering control at low speeds can be negated by lowering the reverse deflector slightly and increasing throttle - so you increase thrust and thus control without increasing boat speed itself. A conventional river-going jet boat will have a shallow-angled (but not flat-bottomed) hull to improve its high speed cornering control and stability while also allowing it to traverse very shallow water. At speed, jetboats can be safely operated in less than 3 inches to (7.5 cm) of water.

Remember, these are maximum recommendations for fair weather operation. The number of people who can be carried safely depends on the type of pleasure craft, distribution of occupants, equipment carried and weather and water conditions. Operators must know and respect the limitations of their boat.

Water treatment for water tanks on boats.

Thu, 23 Aug 2007 22:36:24 +0200
A water purification product for water tanks on boats (in fact any "fresh" water) that is totally effective, odourless, tasteless AND beneficial for your well-being. Aqua Salveo water disinfectant was first and foremostly designed to disinfect contaminated and polluted human drinking water. Therefore, two issues were pertinent. Firstly, Aqua Salveo is needed to demonstrate a killing efficiency with regards to bactaria, fungi and possibly viruses and secondly, as the product is intended for people, it needed to be safe, even when used on a regular basis. Aqua Salveo contains no chlorine or bleaches. AQUA SALVEO IS SPECIFICALLY MADE FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION AND IS SAFE TO USE AS DIRECTED.

Boat Fenders For A Sailing Yacht, cylindrical or spherical?

Thu, 20 Sep 2007 16:00:13 +0200
Is there a practical reason why some cruisers choose round over cylindrical (or vice versa) fenders for a sailing yacht? I have been told the guide for fender size is 2.5cm per 1.5m (1" per 5') of boat length for cylindrical, and 5cm per 1.5m (2" per 5') for round; is this an effective measure? Some sailors also seem to think that suspending fenders from the hand railings/wire between staunchions is poor seamanship...is there a modern reason why this may be true?
